A good location and good light. These are two of the requirements that every photographer dreams of when facing a scene or thinking about a portrait. But what happens if we do not have any of that? A situation with which, to cite just one example, many wedding photographers will have had to deal with. And is that the houses of the couple are not always like the magazine or the lounges of all restaurants can boast an elegant decor.

The fact is that now the photographer has decided to take this situation to the extreme posed a photographic challenge of the most curious: a portrait and fashion session in a large DIY store.

It is hard to think of a place that, at first sight, is less photogenic than the lamps section of one of these centers, the corridors full of tools or the typical palette of colors in the paint area.

To finish complicate it, no reflectors or auxiliary lighting and did not have much time. In fact, as she explains herself, the impromptu session was held while the store was still open and more customers were shopping around there.

Despite this, the truth is that the photographer manages to resolve the situation with more than apparent results, as we discovered in Petapixel. The trick? Enfilades quite closed, defocuses that decontextualize the background -only in some photos, it is seen that it is a DIY store- and a model that knows how to pose.

And, of course, a good dose when editing the originals. It is clear that nothing like burning the lights and playing with saturation and color to finally blur that ugly store in which the photos have been taken.
